Loud ticking noise in drivers footwell

Post by jonnyred » Thu Apr 27, 2017 8:02 pm

i seem to be taking over all the threads on here atm. Posted elsewhere, just been in the van trying to diagnose problems with my cigarette lighter and now have a loud ticking noise (like an indicator noise) coming from the loom in the drivers side accellerator, had a very quick loook but really cant see what could be ticking or why. Started van ran for 5 switched off walked away, came back and still ticking, any ideas guys and girls.

Have you checked the 'trip reset' button on the speedo isn't stuck? Try pressing it again.

Allans had one in a few weeks ago where the trip reset button was stuck and it was making a ticking noise. I don't know the details, but thinking about it, I'm not sure if it only ticked while being driven? Still, it's always worth mentioning these little quirks, they add to the bongo knowledge. 8)

Said ticking has stopped. I had been using the spare central locking fob and immobiliser as my wife had the main keys. When she came home she unlocked the van with that set and ticking had gone ? Coincidence ? Another thing to keep an ear out for.
