Probably stupid question but..

Post by Parhelion » Fri Aug 19, 2016 10:10 pm

can you drive with the tilt-out windows open?

And another one - any reason why we shouldn't take our 2l petrol 54 plate Bongo to France for 2 weeks June/July next year (with appropriate insurance and break down cover - if we can get it?)

Living in Dorset, it's suddenly become quite a Bongo-rich environment! Liking the little waves!

Fine to drive with the rear windows open, and I'm not aware of any restrictions visiting France.

Lots of Bongo peeps holiday there. :D

Never worry about asking anything on here. 8)

The stupid question is the one that never gets asked and the stupid answer is the one that`s never given.

The only reason I can think of not going to France in a Bongo is the French.

Or Grockles. Just had my o/s door mirror taken off by an idiot in a rented motorhome who didn't realise how wide it was. He didn't bother to stop, but I was quick to turn round and caught him.

Thanks everyone. Should have clarified re France :D. I hope the mean machine will be fighting fit when we go, but anyone had any mechanical issues in France, and if so, how easy was it to get it sorted? Thanks again!

There have been mechanical probs as you would expect with large numbers holidaying in Europe.

Mostly resolved by shipping parts out or recovery by your provider.

BUT... Some recovery companies are now 'Writing Off' vehicles wich have broken down. If lowest book value is less than recovery cost they like to give you a (small) cheque rather than do what you thought you'd paid for.
