Blimey! I never paid a bill that big in the 7 years that I had a Bongo. Looks like you were using one of the big boys who's mechanics did not have a clue about Bongos and you were paying them for their learning curve.

I used a big garage once at the start of Bongo ownership and they got it all wrong. Thankfully I was not landed with a big bill like that. Afterwards I used Bongo specialists then on cutting down on traveling distance found a really good local back street mechanic working for himself, all that I had to do was have a chat with him about any problems then supply him with fact sheets printed off from Bongo Fury. He was also happy to use the parts that I supplied myself from specialist Bongo parts suppliers or alternatives recommended by Bongo Fury which also helped to keep costs down.

You live and learn.

Yep.

In my case you live and learn then forget and have to live and learn all over again!

I'm generally pretty savvy but got caught off guard with this one.

My awning will have to wait.

Hope it runs a lot quieter after a bill like that.

£42. per hour labour is not over the top, in fact it is quite reasonable when you take the expenses of equipping and running a garage are concerned.

I was in a local garage last week and the HR was charged at £97.00.It would shock you if you knew what it cost this garage just to open the doors on a Monday morning.

Always ask what the rate is before you give them your vehicle.
