My french flat mate at Uni always refered to it as 'breath of the dog' (probably more apt in most cases), but then he always took about an hour to get a round in by the time the poor barman had translated the order, we used to settle for 'mack-ee-wans' rather than get him to ask for a 'brew-ack-laddie'
