My flu over Christmas lasted around 2 weeks. Eventually went to the doctors (avoided it as long as possible) who put me on antibiotics. Really quick recovery after that. Reckon you'll have to bite the bullet and see the GP.chipvan wrote:still got the flu!! just cant get rid of it....

Are you sure it was flu, or did you have an infection as well? Antibiotics only work on bacteria and flu is caused by a virus
I hope you don't get it again though

Not sure really. The first 10 days or so was definitely flu - I've never been laid up like that before, but started to feel slightly better. So having been cooped up for the period (and feeling rather pathetic confined to the house), I thought I'd brazen it out and get some fresh air. Not being one to do things by half, I stupidly ended up walking up Beacon Hill in the freezing cold (I usually rely on my wife stopping me doing stupid things, but I reckon she was after the insurance money). Thought I was going to die when I reached the top - couldn't breath, speak or move. Had a relapse after that and felt even worse for the next few days. Maybe got an infection in my weakened state? I don't really know how all this stuff works.Sar N Ade wrote:My flu over Christmas lasted around 2 weeks. Eventually went to the doctors (avoided it as long as possible) who put me on antibiotics.
