Post by aitch » Sat Jun 06, 2009 9:34 pm

after last years bash there was talk about having a video camera linked on-line to show the whole site also the use of a long pole or a kite for some still photos of everything is this still happening?

sounded like a great idea after the great results that were posted last year any news on this???

last year forum member g8dhe took some stunning photo's and following the bash talked about a camera mounted on a pole or on a kite - i just posted to find out if this was still going ahead - I hope that it is as I feel the shots would be stunning.

How about attaching it to one of those telescopic fiberglass poles they use for flags? Some of those go up to 9 meters.

i usually bring one of those poles to the big bash for my flags, suppose it could be used if it had a long enough wire for the camera.

I'll be taking some more Pano's on site certainly, and will also have a couple of the mobile DVR going for "videos" of the type I put on the travel log (see signature). The main problem with providing a web cam feed will be getting sufficient bandwidth on a mobile broadband connection - most people viewing the feed on-site would be using the same network cell as the person putting it up which will quickly fill up the bandwidth!

I've not got round in the last year to getting a really high pole together, but I'll give some serious thought to it as I have a date in July to photograph these and it would be nice to get on a level with them!

Mind you some one suggested hiring a light aircraft so I guess I could try this technique ...
or there is this technique but somehow I don't think there is suitable climbing in Stourport ...

Was considering doing some aerial photography with my (small) model glider if the conditions are right and if I can get permission - And the trees are not too bad :) . Can Do stills with geotag and also video as well. The model goes up to about 600ft

The link gives some photos from February http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1 ... =664557775

Was meant to do this at the mablethorpe meet but was too jetlaged as I had just arrived back from China
