As I just posted a first post about some issues we're having with our 1997 4wd 2.5tdi Bongo, I thought I might as well show some pictures of our conversion also. Probably a slightly unusual conversion that had the goal to not lose the ability to have one row of passenger seats when required (it's our only car...).
Some features:
-Pull out kitchen (rear) with a stove & running water (pressured system from a 26l tank)
-12v electrical system with 100Ah leisure battery (located in the second starter battery location) and 200w solar - feeds lights, gadgets and our Dometic fridge
-"lounge area" that can be removed in order to put the second seat row in
-Comfy mattress in the pop-top (that's where we sleep)
-Swivel passenger seat
-Plenty of storage for everything you need (incl. for skis for the winter)
-Custom table that folds and slides into the side of the Bongo
-and additional things that can be seen on the photos...
It was my first van conversion project and we did all the work with only a jigsaw and battery power-drill. Definitely some areas of imperfection and things I would do differently in hindsight, but overall pretty functional!
Some photos are from when the build wasn't completely finished yet, but show some things better.

Looks good Vlme,
What kind of bike rack is that?
A swing out one like that looks much more convenient than the one I have where you cant open the rear door.

Also, I think you should hang up a hockey mask beside the hatchet for the laugh

Thanks!
The bike rack is a Thule T2 Pro XTR, the swing arm is independent, and is a Yakima Backswing. Works great, the only disadvantage is that it makes the van quite a big longer and your departure angle gets quite limited.

That's a clever conversion, I love the pull-out parts, you put a lot of thought into it and it has things I've not seen before on a Bongo. 8) And I'm impressed that there's a robot working on it! We don't have them yet it the UK. 😉😄
