AFT lifting speed
I have not owned my bongo for as long as many of tou on here so maybe you can shed some light on this for me. My AFT lifts up the roof really quite slowly and was wondering if this is just a thing with bongos or are my motors are on the way out in which case ill just replace them?

Re: AFT lifting speed
Are you doing it with engine running (you should, and it's a lot slower engine off)

Nope! Just done the Aero @ 28 secs.
Interesting video I didn't realise there were templates on BF for that.

Re: AFT lifting speed
Engine running is the main thing.
Re: AFT lifting speed
Ive always had the engine running as ive seen the amperage rating for the motors... Its just seems slow...mine is a little slower around the same time as bongolia im guessing.. I will time it. Guess im just being impatient....30 seconds can seem like a long time when you have your finger on the button
Re: AFT lifting speed
Not timed it, but 30 seconds sounds ok to me.
Its not unusual to have to 'help' the roof up the last little bit, gentle push from inside.

Re: AFT lifting speed
I timed it earlier at 32 seconds...guess im just impatient....so what mods does one need to get from 0 to finish in 20seconds lol
To be honest id never saw any other roof mechanism lift up before so was just curious if the speed was normal which it obviously is

Re: AFT lifting speed
The gas struts were replaced about a month ago so thats probably the trick to getting it up fast

Re: AFT lifting speed
But surely the way to tell if your erectile equipment is working satisfactorily is to also time it on deflation and see how this time compares to the time taken to get it up. If it flops down much quicker than it goes up then you might need the same type of surgery Geoff has had. If the times taken are roughly similar then you are probably fairly normal taking into consideration age and correct pulling of the rigid thing positioned front centre (if this is not done, you won't be able to get it up at all). If, on the other hand it goes up very quickly the moment the magic button is touched and only goes down slowly, accompanied by a faint sigh from the adjacent circular orifice then you either (A) have problems and you need to see your Bongo doctor ... or .... (B) are telling porkies.
