Leisure Battery Charger

Post by 2newbies » Sat May 16, 2015 3:12 pm

Hi everyone,

We're looking to put a small charger for the leisure battery permanently under the bonnet. The battery is fitted with a Willinton kit. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Thanks in advance and as always :)

I fitted a Numax 10A charger, eBay item number 321156058628, a year or so ago and it's been fine so far. The only observation is that it has a variable-speed fan that can be quite loud if there's a bit of a load on it, but I've fitted it in the cab so it can't be too loud!

Thanks for that. With the Willinton kit can I just hotwire it into the terminals of the leisure battery without doing any harm?

Make sure its fused at both the battery end as well as the charger end!

I've just fitted a ring rsc408 behind the passengers seat hard wired to the leisure battery. Just plug it in to the 240v when required, only used it once so far but seemed to work OK. It has a supply mode for when you are running a load off the battery It only cost £40 from ebay.

Yes Paul. There won't be any conflict with the Willinton kit, but be sure to fuse it as g8dhe said
