AGM Report Back

Post by Ian » Mon Jul 03, 2017 3:09 pm

As promised here are a few notes following the AGM on Sunday.

1. In total there were 217 Bongos and their occupants on site, just short of our official capacity of 220. This capacity has been set following a meeting between Lickhill and the club so as not to overload the toilet and shower facilities.
2. There were a lot of extra cars parked next to Bongos this year. Although we do not object to family and friends staying with members, it is becoming increasingly difficult to police so next year there will be a small "additional vehicle" charge introduced.
3. Linked to the above, we will have to tighten-up on the definition of what constitutes a "camping pitch" (or unit). Ian will give this some consideration and put proposals here on the Forum, in a future newsletter, and on the main website.
4. Just under £100 was raised for the Bongo the Elephant fund at the Bash, this has now been paid via the "Just Giving" page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/BongoFury
5. Security. Security patrols reported one major noise incident, and a few minor problems, but overall the campsite management were happy with everyone's behavior. There were a few unknown people on site which has led for calls to issue wrist bands for everyone next year.
6. The award for Bongonaut-of-the-Year went to Dennis Eglington of New Dawn Conversions. Full story here: http://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/view ... 60#p693386
7. Club finances. The club continues to run at a small loss, but the time has come to address the issue before it gets out of control. So next year we will have a disco (rather than a band) on Friday night at the Bash. And we will be introducing a small increase in membership fees from April 1st next year.

I think that covers everything, but if I have missed something out, please get in touch.

We missed this year, but that all sounds fair.
