Can non members turn up and pay on arrival or is this frowned upon? I know someone who might come if allowed.
Might encourage people to join if they have a good time and meet other members.

I'm sure anyone can turn up for the Bash, but they will find it was a couple of months ago.

Not much happening now.

My original post was back in June but it's still a good idea.

Might be OK for non-electric pitches but, presumably, they'd have to pay the campsite rate instead of the reduced member's rate - not fair to paid-up members otherwise

Only 10 months to the next Bash :).

The standard 'non-rally' rates at Lickhill Manor are quite pricey: £23 per night mid season + £3 for awning / gazebo, so booking via the Club is definitely the way to go. All Club meets are for members-only so while day visitors at the Bash are most welcome, being able to stay the night and get preferential rates is one of the many advantages of membership.

I joined the forum before I got my Bongo as at the time, Lifesure were offering 10% of their premiums for members, so I got double the cost of the fee back when I took out a policy.

I presume Ian books the rally field for a set price without knowing numbers, so It would be easy for non members to turn up and pay a higher rate for not being a member, he then has an oppurtunity to sell them a membership and reduce the nightly rate, or just sell them a membership and keep a higher rate for not booking in advance. At the end of the day Ian does it to make money as well as promote Bongo ownership.
It might encourage people who are hovering on the forum to turn up and see what a nice bunch we all are before investing in a membership.

Day visitors are welcome at all Meets for free, and possibly peeps may like to camp.

I don't have a problem with visitors staying over but without booking they may be turned away if the site is full and, frankly, membership is so cheap why not just join and book?

Ian doesn't make money from the Club, it's revenue neutral, but the Bongo Shop is their business.

I can see your point, though. :)
