packing the Bongo for hols

I have been packing the Bongo for oiur upcoming 2 week camping holiday for 2 days now ! am still finding things we need to take and crevices to sneak more in ! Must leave room for the family and dog !!! Wonder if this is common and maybe average time for packing up

Know the feeling. We're off camping for 10 days at the end of next week. We're taking the Bongo, but actually using out tent. The Bongo is a weekender/festival type thing for us, but also a fabulous load lugger for situations like this...

Previously I've struggled to cram everything into our Civic (along with huge top-box), but now we have the Bongo, I'm hoping this year will be a doddle! We have a removable rear kitchen which will come out, but I know we'll take a ton more stuff.....because we can....

Happy camping! (The weather is supposed to be getting better - but don't shout about it!)

We just keep all the camping stuff in the camping trailer so we just have to pack clothes hook the trailer up and away we go

Yes its normal!! Way too much for us and two kids to have in the van. Did it once and then got a trailer, then trailer tent.
Roof box helps.

Packing to go is the easy bit. Just wait till you try and get it all back in again!! 11.00 deadline to be off pitch, chucking it down with rain. Everyone wet, the guy with a stinking hangover as you relaxed a bit too much on your last night of holls! There must be others that had this experence, and thought never again.... or is it only me???

We're getting more ruthless. Two small kids, a dog and two adults + bikes means we can't be anything but! It still takes a fair bit of time spread over a few nights usually (simply because packing tends to be limited to late evening when the kids are in bed).

One thing I'd love to buy when we win the lottery (it'd help if we entered), are the Helinox seats http://www.completeoutdoors.co.uk/Helinox-Chair-One. most camping chairs are frustratingly bulky

hahaha thanks all for the advice. Just got back from 2 weeks away in the bongo and 3 campsites so managed to get better at packing. Thankfully have a roofbox and bike rack. not easy getting stuff on the roof ! Especially the dog !!! even with my rear ladder though. Would love one of those Thule Backboxes but sadly funds dont allow right now. I agree about chairs though they take up far too much room !

And all the kit goes in the trailer leaving the van for comfortable travelling for the 4 of us
