Child Seats

Post by Ian » Tue Jun 26, 2012 10:12 am

This question posted on behalf of Chris Hutton.

Hi – hope you can help…we are hoping to purchase our first bongo very soon, but we have a key question…….

We really like the rear conversion approach, but we are concerned about needing to have more than two baby/child seats on the bongo at the same time….we can put one on the front seat but it’s unlikely we can put a baby/child seat in the rear facing bench created by a rear conversion………….but, what are people’s views on how easy it would to have a rear conversion but when we need the space to put an extra child seat in we unbolt the rear facing bench, turn it around and bolt it back in so that it is front facing…….i know to do this it will take two people due to the weight of the seat, but is it a 10, 20, 30 min job? Is it easily done? Are there any safety concerns? Clearly it’s a bit of a pain, but we are happy to do if it means we still have the rear conversion.

Thanks for your help.

You could just keep the middle bench facing forwards, folding the backs down to use the kitchen area. That's how we have our rear conversion set up:

Or there's the swivel seat option:

Just some food for thought.

Just a thought , dont know if it would work but ,
If you had the rear conversion like sdsk BUT dont have the seats at the side like in the photo but have a rock n roll bed instead and keep it on the original bongo runners you would be able to still have two seats in the back plus two car seats in belts and if im not mistaken if you was to push the seat to the front there should be a seat at the back of the rock n role bed,
and you can still have it as a bed,

If you have a slim mid conversion you can keep your back seats with no modifications - job done :)
