Northstar 'outback'

Really like the look of the Northstar Outback. Does anybody have one nthey can offer feedback on please.

Yes we have a northstar "outback" in our car. It's really well made and very functional. We like being able to cook from inside and out. Adam at northstar is really helpful and he made ours with a two tone colour scheme and room to incorporate our own fridge. It has also had good feedback from others at the Scottish bash and friends. ..we love it

How do you find the length of the downstairs bed with the conversion?

Hi Bongo comrades,

Just wondering if anyone has the Outback conversion with the rear fold up 'gull wing' type seats? I'm genuinely wondering whether you can still have the conversion with those seats i.e. how easy the seats are to remove etc.

Going back to the other post, I've modded my runners so they work both ways, well worth it, I suggested at the Bash to the guy from New Dawn conversions he should do this, he;d make a few quid if its cheap enough. Loads of spare runners kicking about.

How do you find the length of the downstairs bed with the conversion?

I'm 6' and no probs with front seat a little forward and footrest up

I bought mine 2nd hand from a 99 gul wing model. mines a 2 bench version so Had to come up with mounting method.

i'm really pleased with the access available via the large doors. its possible to get a 4.5kg calor bottle in the cupboard and a 907 on top as a spare. (made a removable shelf)
One thing that did concern me was the table brackets are positioned such that they would be weight bearing in the bed orientation, I made a second table correct size for weight bearing ie wider than long orientation (store and use at rear of van) . The original table is perfect for sitting at, but i prefer sitting on the bench seat (more height).

you need to be less than 5' 3" sat down any taller and your neck is bent. (std thickness cushions)

How do you cook from outside please? We have this cover which opens and limits access from the outside.

Hey Ignis. Maybe you have the Smev cooker and sink combination with glass lids? Like this photo:



I guess the only thing you can do is remove the lids but I don't know if that's possible. Don't see why not. Hope you're pleased with the conversion in other ways!
