Front seats stabbing me- too small...ideas/mx5..?

Post by jakecarless » Wed Aug 27, 2014 9:20 pm

My drivers front seat seems a bit small so the left side digs into my leg- pretty uncomfy on long journeys.

Has anyone replaced the front seats for other models? Someone mentioned MX5 seats fit? Should I just try get them re-upholstered or has anyone got any awesome replacement suggestions? pictures welcomed... oow anyone got some cream leather...?

Hi and i know what you mean, it's the seat belt stalk that stabs you so refurbing the seats won't make any difference. Interesting thought about fitting other seats though.

I know what you mean too. I find it's mostly on the left, but if I move to the right, it's then both sides!

I have a spare MX5 seat as my garage seat, so I'll have a look some time :)

when I got the Bongo I fitted a 3 x ciggie socket to the back of the centre console, power from the leisure battery. Now I just got two heated massage seat covers cheap off eBay (2nd hand Woolworths but unused) for 30 quid the pair (separate auctions), which make both front seats super comfy and smart + with dividends. I actually find the Bongo seats comfy except for the seat squab which doesn't suit my coccyx.

MX5 seats -they are the correct width. Passenger seat bolts straight in but drivers seat would need fettling of runners and is a bit of a hassle. I couldn't be bothered !
For sale / Collect only - Scotland - pair of good MX5 seats complete with runners £60 - - - - -
Origo bio stove - no Bongo!
