Going to France No V5 yet advice needed please

Post by upthebeacon » Sat Jul 26, 2014 6:12 pm

Hi all I purchased my bongo 6 weeks ago. Sent all the stuff off the the dvla as I should have done on the same day. We are due to travel to france in one week and I've just realised that I've not yet been sent a new V5. I do still have the new keepers slip V5C/2. I believe that there is a €500 euro fine if you don't have one. However as I've said I've not yet been sent one.

I'm planning to ring the dvla on Monday first thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Mike.

If you have the new keepers slip you will be fine - it's proof of insurance the Gendarmes are interested in - the only ones who will hassle you (and that's all any of them will do) is the Swiss border control - but even they (after shouting at me a lot) have let me go through with no more than proof of insurance and my drivers licence (No passport, MOT, V5 etc)
