Re: aircon not working
Probably needs re gassing due to natural wastage @ 10% per year or it has sprung a leak.I got mine serviced & re gassed with a local specialist cost was £60.
It is icy cold and I know it has been done right ie condensers checked, moisture removed,PAG oil, correct amount of gas and dye added so if there are any future problems they will be easy to spot.
Hope that helps.

Re: aircon not working
61-503 on the link below is the switch which senses the internal pressure in the system, if you remove the plug on the top and short the plug (wires) with a paper clip etc it should kick up the aircon if the front heater blower is on at least stage one or above and you switch the aircon on.

this will tell you that the system has dropped its pressure and needs regas etc, if it doesnt kick up then it maybe mechanical or an elecky fault.

Re: aircon not working
no. - - - - it sounds like another fault, either lecky,(short the wires again and see if there is lecky to the compressor) if no lecky when the aircon is switched on and the heater blower is on then it could be the lecky control/switch/wiring. if there is lecky there then the compressor may be seized.dogpausie wrote:shorted wires to aircon and the fans came on but not the motor checked belt that is ok does it just need re gassing thanks
Re: aircon not working

where are the gassing points to regass front and back,
can anyone recomend somewhere in the west midlands to get it gassed
thanks

Re: aircon not working
It is one system, does both back and front. Gassing points, low and high pressure are under the bonnet. Competent aircon mechanic should find it without a problem. The high pressure point is the one with the black cap with the letter H on it in front of the radiator and the low pressure point is round the back with a green cap with the letter L on it. When booking it in check that they can find out how much gas to put in. I've seen 900g and 950g stated here for a system that includes the rear heater.dogpausie wrote:re-tested aircon fans and compressor working ok,

The Bongo aircon isn't particularly specialised so you could use any trusted aircon place. However I'd pick somewhere with ramps because this can help if they have search out a leak. With a vehicle this age I'd urge them to put dye into the gas so if it does leak the location(s) can be found without another refill.
