French heatwave - van in peril!

Post by Skipper » Tue Jul 18, 2017 3:15 pm

Help please! Just stopped at a French motorway services and noticed water pooling outside drivers side. The aircon is working pretty hard, but not expecting that much water to be lost. Can anyone check the photo and tell me if I'm expecting to lose water from this outlet?

Edit- can't seem to add photo. Outlet pipe is midway between the wheels and open - pointing directly downwards.

No photo yet but description isn't necessarily alarming. You can get a fair amount of water from aircon especially if it is warm AND humid, which it is in the UK at the moment.

Try soaking some up with white absorbent paper (tissues, kitchen roll, toilet roll) and let us know what colour it is.
Also let us know what colour your antifreeze is, typically either blue, green or red.

It would probably be worthwhile checking the coolant level in the header tank.

Good Luck.
