Rust

Post by 2newbies » Sun May 21, 2017 7:19 pm

Hi All,

I was crawling under Daisy this afternoon and noticed some rust on some of the metal coolant pipes - notably around the t-pipe under the drivers seat. No leaks yet - but is it safe to use rust eater?

A second point while I'm on here - we've had Daisy for five years now and she's never been undersealed or waxoyled. Rust has never been mentioned on any MOT. Is it worth getting her done now?

Thanks as always.

I would have thought a rust eater will be ok on the pipes, and application of rust preventer can only help elsewhere. 8)

But be aware that if its being eaten by rust in one place other areas are probably going as well, so as temporary fix its fine but change the pipes completely soon!
