Rear brakes

Post by davemanship » Sat May 20, 2017 8:44 am

Me again.... rear brakes are catching a little i think. Do you need any special tools to wind in the rear pistons or do they just push in ?
Thanks all

They just push in, I used a G cramp over mine to wind them back steadily. Very simple and easy to get to all the bits, provided they're not rusted in place

Disc brakes are pads .. The hand brake are shoes inside the drum .. It's not unknown for the friction material to come un bonded from the metal ..

Keep an eye on the fluid reservoir as you push the pistons in, it can overflow.

job done. jacked wheels up and they spun ok. old pads had minimal wear so just a clean and refit thankfully. the were smelling and felt hot to me but guess its something to do with the weight and being auto.
thanks again all
