MX5 clock fitting

Post by bonetti » Wed Apr 19, 2017 8:25 am

Hi
I've got hold of the MX5 clock/cubby combination. It has been supplied with the plug.
I just wondered if anyone could help with which wires to connect up to get it working.
I beieve I will only need a live and a negative but don't know if thats right or even which colours they might be.
It's too much to hope they are simply red and black.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you. Yes, this does half the job for me. Now I need to identify which are the equivalent wires on my bongo. I'm afraid I have no electrical skills at all and I wouldn't know how to use an electrical tester even if I had one. I'm hoping I can identify them by coulour at some point.

Thanks for the reply. Very helpful as a start.

The wiring on the stereo plug where you can take feeds from (soldered) are :

BLUE / RED +ve PERMANENT

BLUE +ve IGNITION

RED / BLACK ILLUMINATION

BLACK (thin) NEGATIVE

BLACK / RED (heavy) NEGATIVE

And that completes the circuit I do believe.
