Burns Night

Talk about non-Bongo stuff. BUT KEEP IT CLEAN....there are children watching. Smut, filth, and anything offensive will not be tolerated and removed immediately.

Burns Night

Post by Bob » Wed Jan 25, 2017 10:29 am

Greetings to all our Scottish friends. :D

We will be having our (vegetarian) haggis with neeps and tatties tonight, Mrs B is a Munro (and vegatarian).

Oh, and 'Wiskey Sauce' of course.

As long as you don't get confused by the whiskey sauce and try walking to the top of her - do you both no end of harm if you try that

We have a Spanish language student living with us for a few weeks (not Carlos Fandango, he went home a few weeks ago) and it's our duty to educate her in our ways, purely for cultural reasons m'Lud. So we're having Cullen skink followed by haggis (made with dead sheep), neeps, tatties & gravy, followed by all-butter shortbreads & whisky ice-cream. And a wee dram or two on the side. Not a hint of Spam either

Bongoplod -

You really should be ashamed of yourself! I may be an ex-pat, but I am still fully aware that the only true Food of the Gods is a slice of black pudding. I don't mean the commercial stuff, but the proper pud, with the lumps of fat in it as big as peas, that when lightly fried gave an aroma that blended with that of the bacon on the same hotplate and had one salivating as no haggis ever could!
And the proper honeycomb tripe? With vinegar - the honeycomb would hold the vinegar in place until it reached the mouth, where it would dissipate when lightly chewed into a mouthful of pleasure that was only swallowed with regret. If it was available a touch of black pepper would turn such a feast into a dish fit only for kings.
