T5 WOES

well - just updating my progress

so I have whats called angel eyes on my t5

they have 2 rings either side for side light operation

main bulbs are just main etc

so I have a couple of half rings on each ring and pretty bugging

turns out after doing some research - there are 4 bulbs on each ring

ok - then after reading some info - t5 guys stated replacing all little bulbs so they all shine the same brightness etc blah blah because of age and different types

so followed a link which took me to an Italian led bulb supplier - £20 quid later - I have 20 leds

I have 2 spots on the bottom of the bumper which are not wired in - so job to do at some time

doing some more research - it turns out the bloody bumper has to come off to get headlights out - so the little bulbs can be changed - very fiddly

ahh well - my mechanic electrician stated - at least we can wire the 2 spot lights at the same time - simples

at least he is enthusiastic lol

my poor bumper - I hope he wears gloves lol

well - if we have these expensive mod toys - I guess its all package and parcel as they say

I still love it to bits

did a trip to buy my daughters new car from Mansfield somewhere

110 miles

only took a tenner - maybe 11 quid - bongo would have been a fair little more - and to be fair my new ride is very nice and more than I can explain - comfortable and quiet

don't get me wrong - I was told on a run that I would get 45 mpg - and I drive her the same as I would have the bongo

sit back and relax - max 70 - 75 otherwise just poodle along and enjoy

I have a 3 seat bench - in the rear and a huge professional built storage box - and it is all professionally been soundproofed and carpeted

so very quiet ride indeed

so all good - fuel saving in one hand - expansive fixes in the other lol

thanks andy

hi bob

one good thing about the t5,s - is the styling and interior

the dash layout and configuration has pretty much stayed the same

as mine is a fairly old one 2004 - or newist of the t5 range

it seems they have kept the styling pretty much the same through out the years

I went in my friends sportline t5 2013 and was very surprised on how similar everything was

although mines a 2004 - it all lights up blue and has glow red dials - all lights up like a spaceship lol

as said - apart from different style knob - everything has remained very similar

so from 2004 to 2009 - 2010 - everyone got the same thing

I also think the bongo was very advanced for 1996 - climate control - all electric pack etc

but as with the bongo,s all the styling was different where as the t5,s remained the same

take my plate off and it could be a t5 from 2010

even some of the top models like the Californian etc - dash - still the same

but - she is a van  but now a pimped van 8)

to be honest - I thought my bro in law had pimped the blue dash bulbs in his t5 - nope all standard

so vw did a few good things lol - no white dial mod though lol I will give the bongo that one

YEAH - I didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me lol #-o

[-X but it isn't any more lol

the plate was a private one - and the v70 lks meant something sentimental - so it didn't come with her - ex owner had it for 6 years and on a t4

for 450 quid I can have v90 lks or 300 quid t30 vks as the van is a t30 (t5) total weight ?

my pockets are not that deep - yet lol

Much thoughI hanker after the walk-through space, having had it in my Type 25,

...I think i would really miss having the Bongo's lovely office desk alongside me all the time. I've rather got used to it!

hi bud

yes ---- I think - you've lost me

Much thoughI hanker ??

Bongo's lovely office desk alongside me all the time

if you mean the way the bongo - sits around you in the drivers seat - yes I totally agree

I almost leant on the center console and day dream off lol

but I now have captain seats and they are like an arm chairs lol

I think the t5 is only inches - wider but certainly feels as wide as anything - I now like the space
