How clever is this ? !

Talk about non-Bongo stuff. BUT KEEP IT CLEAN....there are children watching. Smut, filth, and anything offensive will not be tolerated and removed immediately.

Oh hell. I forgot to get some milk as we were passing the only store, 5 miles back. #-o #-o #-o

But seriously, i wouldn't fancy setting up that lot in the wind rain and dark (or any one of those!). Turn the key and go is what us solo travellers want eh Brian?

Undeniably clever design, I would love to make something like that. I wonder how heavy all of that is though? Got to be close to being overweight surely?

Bits getting lost. Wind wrenching something whilst erecting(!), mud getting in the joints, being stuck on site when i want to whizz off and sight see etc. Its a wonderful thing to watch someone else do, but not for me, so I'm out. Mind you i've long wondered how to Bongify a Berlingo so the door to my dragon's den remains open

I don't disagree Mike, we've had the mass debate  on here before about different solutions for different people. For me its more about the ingenious solutions, things fitting within others things, everything having dual function and completing it all for less than a third hand battered motorhome.

Ha ha yes and i'm the worst for not keeping it simple. But I'm trying to mend my ways in readiness for retirement. Travel light, keep it quick, simple and highly portable/flexible. It remains to be seen if I manage it!

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Ingenious.
I think it is great that a guy uses his skills to come up with a smart idea which looked quite cool when up and not ugly on the move. Obviously there would be a way to go for it to be a "product". :-k :-k :-k :-$ :-$ :-$ My bongo has strong rails already built in, oh yeh \:D/

okay so it needs a couple or dozen leccy motors and a big open/close switch  .

A Bongo DIY fitted with something a bit like (slide out bedroom) this has come up on ebay.......twice i think within a year or two. First problem (for me) is versatility goes out the window and instead of an MPV i have a campervan which, being my only vehicle, is not ideal.
