Learner driver insurance on a Bongo??

Post by bongobananas » Fri Apr 17, 2015 8:47 pm

Just purchased our first Bongo, whoopee!!

I'll be the main driver but my partner is learning to drive and has yet to pass his test. I've rang nearly all of the insurers listed on this site but none of them seem to be willing to insure a learner driver, they all say he must have held a UK licence for a year or more. I've also tried Marmalade and Insure Learner Driver but they will not insure a learner driver on this type of vehicle either.

Surely there must be SOME way of insuring him on the Bongo as a learner - can anyone help?

You could try Adrian Flux but, even if you find an insurer, it'll probably be horrendously expensive, especially if it's an unconverted 8 seater :(
