We've only gone & done it / OMG what have we done!!

So we've just bought a 1995 4WD 2ltr diesel side conversion. I got to do the test drive as hubs wanted to make sure I was happy with how she felt.. & the answer was great.

We drove her 100m on Saturday & again on Sunday & shes brill - cruises at 70 but has power to overtake the VWs at 80. Temp gauge at 11oclock- the whole time not a flicker :) :) :)

But then....

When we got her home hubby noticed a knocking noise when he was reversing onto our driveway on full lock... & then same again when pulling off on full lock. Hmm.

I have just realised I can pull up the MOT history (something I wish I'd realised before handing over our dosh). Hubbys headed off for the week on a road trip & I'd love to be able to put his mind at rest. So please give it to me straight- should I be worrying about these?

I think our next move is to get her into a bongo specialist for an inspection. We're near Telford /Wolverhampton any recommendations?

Welcome. Ian Taylor in Stoke on Trent would be a good option. The knocking could be CV joints on a 4wd. The other items would all best be seen to. Corrosion of coil springs gets my attention as that might indicate corrosion elsewhere also, to be expected in a 95 Bongo but wait and see what a specialist says. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks Mike and Bob for the advice -; I'll be ringing Ian tomorrow - it'll be reassuring to get an expert view.
