First Time Buyer

Post by swinney100 » Sun Apr 30, 2017 8:18 am

Hi all,

after months of researching I am finally ready to get my first bongo. My budget is limiting me to private sales and being in Newcastle this limits the number that are near by. I have seen one on gumtree and wondered what you guys think about it.

Thanks

4 things to look out for on a Bongo like this

Rust, rust, rust, and rust. But seriously, that is the biggie I think. But do your research on inspecting Bongos generally. You can't expect perfection at this age and price but you need to consider you could face bills of £1-2k not far into ownership. But on the face of it, it looks an honest and well loved Bongo at a fair price. Good luck and keep us posted

Its always worthwhile checking the ...... https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

Just put in registration number and make of vehicle.

This vehicle in particular shows "History of Corrosion" whether is has been repaired "properly" or not you need to ask the seller " and get proof"
I would strongly recommend that you get a through inspection of these vehicles for Rust , otherwise you could get Stung.

That looks like a good purchase and only a few years in UK. Very true about having to be prepared to travel to bag a good one. I went from Manchester to Suffolk for mine after much emailing of photos of the underside etc. Had to be prepared to walk away but luckily I didn't have to.

We'll spotted teenmal on the previous MOT advisories =D>
