I've one of the suitcase ones
They have a ally u channel frame around them
So making a bracket would be no problem
I thought abought it as I useD mine in the bongo and caravan
But i chain it up and turn it to face sun during day if we at camp
I did glue some brackets on a caravan roof and bungee strap it down but no good for traveling
I'd want screws or bolt fixings
Don't trust sticky glue these are heavyish panels and the wind would get under
And didn't want to drill me roofs

on another note, anyone know anything about portable solar panels? something we are interested in but not sure whether it is worth it?

I do wonder about the suitcase type of fold outs and whether a sort of clip in arrangement could be made to the AFT to hold an open one in place while on site , the angle of the opened roof would be ideal if facing the sun. Also helps against light fingered Herbert s nicking it while you are dozing in the sun.

My thinking too. Also, where a fixed one is left in constant operation, does the constant charging and discharging shorten the leisure battery life? And there may be times when the Bongo cannot be positioned to catch the sun optimally, but if a panel is detachable it could be set up optimally regardless. And the panel might last longer if not permanently exposed to the elements (and thieves!). etc. etc.

With just a cheap £10 controller and a spare still in packet
Mine is the mono crystal panels in black (think I read somewhere there slightly better in less sunshine than poly crystal ) or what ever crystal there called carnt remember at mo
I left glastonbury after a 6 day cloudy stay with loads of people charging phones, kids dvd and 12v tv, radio etc with more battery power than I arrived with
And was out all days so wasn't turning it with the sun
Just over £130 on eblay with cables and connectors
Looks good in black aswell
