Newbie
Hi everyone. Just bought a 97 friendee after many months of T4/T5 deliberation and a flirtation with a vivaro. Durrrr I hear you say. Anyway. What's the best tip going for what i need to do, other than camp? I had an mx5 and it was mod the ash tray into a cup holder then change the dials etc. Any you cool mods?

Re: Newbie
Welcome and pleased you chose the more characterful Bongo over the more spacious but duller and harder to squeeze down narrow lanes others. Plus you have a great autobox, electric blinds, electric roof options on the Bongo and the friendliest owner community ever, by all accounts. There are some useless bongo ashtray/cupholder kits on offer out there i believe so buy with caution. Most of all, enjoy personalising and getting out in your new vehicle.Baggybagshaw wrote:Hi everyone. Just bought a 97 friendee after many months of T4/T5 deliberation and a flirtation with a vivaro. Very warm welcome to BF.
Low Coolant Alarm is the first mod.
One of Haydn's.
The ash tray is the same as the MX5 so that would be a very simple mod, personaly I'm rather keen on cruise control.

You will find a wealth of accumulated knowledge on this site, use the search facility at the top right of the page for anything specific. I cannot think of a topic that hasnt been covered on here at some time
Whereabouts are you located, it can help directing you to any specialist help you may need, and what model did you end up adopting?
Uploading images can be a bit of a struggle if like me you are not to savvy PC wise.
Good luck and get using the van as soon as you can while the weather is holding.

Re: Newbie
Thanks so far guys. It came fitted with a coolant alarm so that's covered. The leisure battery seems to be a bit lame as the lights dim within minutes of turning it off and the radio cuts out... New leisure battery needed? I'm in Wetherby near Leeds and would appreciate tips. I thought I'd book it in for a service and timing belt change to be sure... 122k on the clock. Heading to Malham this weekend with the young un so will have more to report re quirks next week. Happy days. Ps. What's the bongo wave?

Several 'Secret Signs' depending if you're in Bongy, on foot, driving something else.
A big grin and manic waving normally sufice.
Note, when meeting us on site we like a big gin and a manic wave.
