Wont start!
After 5 years faithful service got in Bertie this morning, started first time, ran for a couple of mins whilst parked went a bit lumpy then cut out and won't start.
So any top tips things too check?
He must know I am thinking of selling him

Try a landcover forum you will find a local bloke who will weld on his drive a lot cheaper, we have one locally who saved my discovery, Two new box section sills, new rear cross member, patches on the chassis and floor all for £400, garage wanted more than that for the sills alone

Re: Elephant Insurance
I have 8 seats but added a rear kitchen with sink and hob. Then you have a 8 seater camper. Remember it comes out of the factory with 8 seats 6 of them convert to a bed or table you are adding a sink and hob, then in the eyes of most insurers its camper, even though the log book says MPV. I have don...

Re: Sold a rotten Bongo for £4,500 - please help.
From my experience its often cheaper to buy one needing no welding as unless you can do this your self it can cost quite a bit, cheap Bongos are about just keep looking I paid £1200 for mine 5 years ago with a few issues but spent £800 on it and its been a good vehicle but the bloke I bought it from...

Re: Garage not keen on fixing rear wheel arches??
Its all about the prep, primers and paints, a proper job isn't cheap as its not difficult just time consuming.
i know another garage who won't touch them as its so fiddly.
I am just going to bite the bullet and do my own then get a garage to paint it

Re: Calling all ex bongo owners
Having had a few campers the problem is they are often too big, just been to North Cornwall and many of the roads only just fit a car down them. I have a tin top and never camp in it as we feel its too small so take the caravan. Problem with campers / motor homes is they are just too expensive for t...

Re: The bongo has been sold
Nearly sold mine a few times as we hardly use it, but when we use it its fantastic, just done a tour of Cornwall 6 adults luggage surf boards etc never missed a beat and 27MPG. Try and keep a Bongo pot saved just incase, I was told over 5 years ago I would never find one for the £2000 I had saved, i...

Re: A quiet fridge?
Hi, My bongo has a leisure battery and a 240volt hook up and at the moment it has a dual voltage coolbox. The problem is it is very noisy and the Mrs can't sleep when it's running, it also drains the leisure battery really quickly. I've read that 3 way fridges running on gas are silent but I'm a bi...

Re: cleaning glass on headlights
I've just tried to polish the cloudy glass on my 1999 Bongo's headlamps, but the Xerapol seems to have made it worse! I followed the instructions and used plenty of elbow grease but they now look uniformly cloudy rather than patchy. Any ideas where I've gone wrong and how to make them clear again? ...
