First thing to check is that the battery is fully charged, that noise is usualy the solenoid not having enough power to engage, if fully charged check the battery contacts. I can see this, if you had just done someone in in the attic of your Bongo you could give the Club (not in your Bongo) Salute with a knowing wink to passing Bongos.

Obviously can't say what the salute if on a public forum.

It might be worth checking out ACF 50 (Anit Corrosion Fluid), which I recommended elsewhere. Just Google it and follow the links, they say it won't damage rubber and the like.

Is there any traction control on the 4wd Bongo please? I ask 'cos without it 4wd isn't too effective and I want to be able to get out of muddy fields.
