Re: Bye bye Bongo
Traded in to Mill Garage Duns. Sad to see it go but we are planning a lot of long trips over the next couple of years and thought it was asking a wee bit much of the old bus!

Re: November/December meet?
I'd be up for a winter trip if I can escape. Been very busy all year so not been looking on here much. Near Oban at the moment .. Dry this morning but very soggy underfoot. Mike

Re: Red Squirrel Campsite, Glencoe - 22nd/23rd February
All great fun. I have a couple of photos but not downloaded them yet. The road was a little exciting on the way home .. axle deep flooding near the Suie Hotel and the start of what I suspect would turn into a landslide on the steep bit between Crainlarich and Lochearnhead. Callander really badly flo...

Worth a major rebuild???
Well, as many on here will know I had to replace the head on my Bongo and had a slight issue tracking down a new squeal that turned out to be a bolt that had worked loose on the turbo intake. Excellent work carried out by both Linton Service Station and Campers Scotland. Have just completed a flawle...
Re: awnings

Re: Testing Bongo friendly garage - East Linton
Well, everything has been double tested and checked. No signs of problems around the studs. All looks good. Garage took it for a long run and the noises were noted. Considered advice is that the intermittent whine must be coming from the turbo and not to be concerned about it until it gets much wors...

Re: Testing Bongo friendly garage - East Linton
Bongo going fantastically well ... just been up at the Rothimurchus site near Aviemore for a few days .. which is tremendous. Superb weather too. However, latest little glitch in Bongoland is a screeching noise under power (not belts) and a whiff of exhaust gas ... so it looks like an exhaust manifo...

Re: Testing Bongo friendly garage - East Linton
Yes. Its the same garage. It is run by Jimmys' son Chris now. The mechanic who worked on the Bongo is Roddy Hutchison who also has a really good reputation.

Re: Testing Bongo friendly garage - East Linton
Matt .. the garage are of the opinion the fault was a leak in the waterpump. They checked all the hoses etc and flushed it twice and ran in around for a couple of days before they let me have it back. I'll call you with the full gory details! Not sure about the Gairloch trip ... need to be in Aberde...

Re: Testing Bongo friendly garage - East Linton
:D Bongo is back from the doctors and is running beautifully. Hadyn alarm fitted, new head, timing belt, aircon belt, oil/filter change and a general health check completed. Yes, my pocket is lighter but I am assured she will run for years now .. here's hoping. So, yes, I would recommend Allens' Gar...

Re: Testing Bongo friendly garage - East Linton
Been speaking to a lot of people so I think rather than muck about I gettingto get a new head, fit a Hadyn temperature alarm to complement the coolant one I already have and hopefully that will be me sorted. I concluded that by the time I've paid the garage to strip down the head, sent it off for te...
