Re: Bongo friendly garage near Huddersfield

Just used this garage to sort out my broken heater. Feared I would need a new fan motor/resister but they thankfully repaired the motor at a cost of £63.

Re: King lead for 2 L Petrol

It's ignition car parts who supplied the wrong lead and can't supply the right one.

King lead for 2 L Petrol

I've recently changed my dist cap and HT leads and had no problems with the plug leads. However the king lead provided was way too short. My old king lead measured approx. 20 cms but the one provided was 40 cms. I've been back to the supplier but they say they can't get a longer king lead. Has anyon...

Dist cap etc for 2.0l petrol 2002

Have found a Distributor Cap and Rotor Arm on ebay but they say are only suitable for SGE3 models. Would these fit SGEW models? Also HT lead set but only for models without a king lead - would this be OK for SGEW model. All 3 are suitable for 2.0L petrol 95 - 2006. Any help appreciated.

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

As far as I can ascertain the reader only works on vehicles with the check engine warning light.

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

Could do both read dtcs and erase lights. It did occur to me that with the one I bought being advertised as Mazda, was there something different to it compared to the normal MS309.

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

I am pleased to say that everything is now OK. I tried everything suggested to get rid of the check engine warning light but nothing worked and I thought it would be a bit cheeky to go back to the garage seeing as I had done the job myself. So I took a punt on a scanner and 17 pin adapter I found on...

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

Thanks for that - I tried what you suggested but no luck and then disconnected battery overnight - still no luck. Any other suggestions?

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

Job now completed but check engine light still on. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it without the use of a code reader. I seem to recall seeing somewhere that it will go out after 200 miles.

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

I finally decided to get a sensor from the main dealer (£196) which I am now waiting for. So decided to try to loosen the old one. Piece of cake to get at - lift passenger seat and there it is within easy reach. But, could I shift it - could I hell! Tried copious amount of WD40 and plenty of welly b...

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

Thanks - what is involved in changing the sensor. I'm 70 years old so days of rolling about under car is over. Can it be reached by getting under front seats?

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

Thanks for all the wise advice. I will now get the sensor replaced. I would prefer to do it myself but it sounds like it's too difficult for me. I assume its necessary to get at the exhaust under the van.

Re: Engine check warning light 2L

Thanks g8dhe. Have found a garage with the required reader and the code is P0135 - oxygen sensor malfunction. He told me that this sensor was required by Japanese regulations but is not necessary under UK regs and that really there is no need to replace it. He quoted a price for the part of £200 + 1...
