Re: Headlight relay
Thanks Geoff, I saw that diagram, but it didn't make a lot of sense to me. I guess it's listing 5 alternatives (well, 4, because 2 are the same) for the same relay? As I'm unclipping and discarding the housing before popping it in the waterproof boot I suppose it doesn't make any difference if I get...

Headlight relay
Hi - The Bongo (early 1997 SGL3 diesel) has been in SORN for a few months, and I plan to tax it again tomorrow. While testing the lights I noticed the headlights weren't working on dip or high beam, although the passing light (high beam when pulling the stalk forward worked). This caused me to check...

Re: French Speed Limit
It just came into effect on the 2nd of july 2018. Also be aware that there is extra cameras being put on signs like the triangle shaped ones and direction signs, you will not see these until you get flashed. But for 2 months if the gendamdemarie stop you for going 90km in an 80km zone, they can not...

Re: Electric mirror not working properly ??
Yep, as Mike says, the door card has to come off, and then you need to get behind the plastic sheet, because you'll need to unplug the cable which clips in about halfway down the door. Be careful when you pull off the card, mine cracked a little at the top, but nothing serious. It was my own fault f...

Waeco CF-25 problem
Hi - Every year we seem to get a new problem with our Waeco CF-25 fridge. This time the digital display reports the temperature as 52C, rising to 57C or higher when its left running. Inside the fridge, its arctic conditions, beer and milk frozen solid. So, the fridge always thinks its above the set ...

Re: PhotoBucket to charge $399 a year
Does this mean use personal cloud space? Almost certainly a cheaper option than the $399 upgrade required by PB and probably free for many. However we've seen the difficulty in, for example, working out how to publish from Google. For now, I'm using dropbox on other forums I post on. Seems to be ea...

Re: ABS warning light
I finally got around to checking with an LED via the diagnostic connector (thanks Geoff), and it looks like it's the right front wheel speed sensor. I can't help thinking its a coincidence that it happened at the same time that I replaced the right side headlamp. Is there any wiring around the headl...

Re: Tiny Jump-Starter Pack
I may have been a little hasty in my condemnation of the Guluman. After my first disappointing attempt, I tried fully charging the device again, and testing it on the Bongo. Over the course of two days, I was able to jump start the Bongo first time on 6 separate occasions from a single charge. 4 LED...

Re: ABS warning light
Thanks for that, Geoff - really useful, and I'll give it a go. The ABS warning light isn't actually flashing, but staying on (on a couple of trips it did go out for a while, but came back on again a little later). Presumably the LED the page refers to is a simple 12v LED with trailing leads and no r...

ABS warning light
Hi - My ABS warning light has started to stay on after starting the engine. The problems started a week or two ago. I did a 100 mile trip, and it was fine. Before returning home, I noticed that the drivers side headlight was blown, so I replaced the bulb and drove home. It was during this return tri...

Re: Tiny Jump-Starter Pack
Managed to run a test on the Guluman today, but not that impressed. I will probably return it and look at getting a cheaper model. I disconnected my good Bongo battery, and replaced it with my dodgy car battery (12.47v meter reading across the poles, but unable to start a vehicle). Tried starting th...

Re: Tiny Jump-Starter Pack
Thanks for link. Ended up with the Guluman, though. Not sure why, just a (probably ill founded) gut feeling. Unit arrived today and appears to be good quality. I may test it on the Bongo tomorrow. The car battery was about 8 years old, but no sign of any trouble until the recent cold snap and took m...

Re: Tiny Jump-Starter Pack
I've had one for a couple of years .. holds it's charge very well and while still using my Bongo my V6 Alphard was left unused on the drive and the battery 'self discharged' several times .. started the 3.0 V6 without any hassle .. They are an very light / handy /will fit in your pocket charge phon...

Re: Body Worn Cameras
How about one of these Drift Compass cameras: https://driftinnovation.com/collections/cameras/products/compass (if you can find somewhere they are in stock). I don't have one myself, but I do have a Drift Stealth 2 by the same manufacturer, which is excellent. Sportsbikeshop report they will have av...
