V6 cutting out

My V6 has started cutting out about 1 minute after starting from cold, this has happened for the last two mornings, it starts perfectly on first turn of the key but starts misfiring and then cuts out after traveling a few hundred yards, it is difficult to restart needing up to 10 attempts, once rest...

Re: advised to scrap

The problem is many garages just fit a new head without investigating what caused the original head to fail in the first place. Even if they have bled the system properly the new head will fail if the cause of the original failure was not found, more often than not this was due to radiator blockage,...

Re: 18MPG on my V6

Sounds a bit low to me, I have a V6 AFT running on 15 inch wheels at present, if I am only driving in town I get about 18mpg but can get up to 29mpg driving at below 65mph on motorways, so an average will be somewhere about 24mpg. I always have to resist giving it pedal to the metal to achieve this ...

Re: Dawlish Warren

My partner (Josie) had a caravan on a seasonal pitch at Leadstone untill 2008, as Gavin says it is rather basic with few facilities. It's also quite a hike to the beach (about a mile) and it's quite a steep hill on the return. The only site for campers & tourers close to the beach & on the f...

Re: Refused an MOT test !!!

Have just checked the VIN plate on my Bongo & no mention of gross weight on mine either, I'v never had any trouble getting it through 4 MOTs. I think the garage your using is being pedantic!

Re: Removing Decals

Removed mine with a wallpaper steamer, took about one hour to remove the lot, it removed the decals & glue in one hit but it has to be really hot to do this. I did mask the edges of the old decals carefully with tin foil to protect the paint work from the heat, the paint will bloom if the steam ...

This is a nice little site, basic facilities but a view to die for, very reasonable site fees.
