Get three more and replace the Bongo's wheels. Can't be that difficult

Imagine all the batteries laid out flat, low down in a Bongo for low CoG then all that instant torque =P~ [-o<

Yeah, the RS6 was the fastest I've seen in real life. Bear in mind I was doing 70 and it just disappeared.
From a stand still no doubt the Tesla would be quicker; watched some youtube clips about them a while back.

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....

LPG has an incredibly high octane so is very good with boost. A supercharger would be best for bottom end, tree stump pulling torque, such as an Eaton but a mini Cooper one would be too small, something off a Merc/Jag? I was behind a Tesla Model S last night at some traffic lights. I have NEVER see...

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....

Just need a turbo on the V6 then we could have the best of both; low-down torque and high rev power, especially if you're running on LPG [-o<

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....

Same for me skater: 6+ years of diesel & now 4+ years of V6. It does take some getting used to having all that power up the top end of the rev range :). Chug chug chug chug chug, doncha just miss that low down effortless torque, cruising down country lanes in lockout at 50 mph and 40 mpg. The Q...

Re: Frankenstein engine thoughts.....

Dunno about a 3.0 quad cam lump .. the 929 3.0 is only a single cam 18 valve .. To be honest .. for a narrow .. tall .. camper van with the aerodynamics of a house brick I am quite happy with my V6 as it is .. Yes, it does move when you want it to but you need to be heading over the 4500rpm mark, w...

Can it be tweaked up?

I tweaked my old diesel but that had a mechanical pump that had lots of adjustment options.

Re: V6 auto slow to change to top gear

.. and I am not a fan of using kick down which to me is hard on both engine / gearbox / fuel system / consumption .. In fact (on dry roads) I tend to use the 'H' and slide the lever down to '2' the free revving V6 engine thrives on it ...... I've got a V6 too and sometimes use Hold, sometimes just ...

Re: My 4x4 Auto Gearbox failed recently on my 2.5 Diesel Bon

Thanks.
Yes I followed that link and looks like my box is affected.
Have e-mailed Mazda UK but am not expecting anything helpful.
What to do next :-k

White painted was the fixed sign for the second recall; 1st was yellow paint. ( That dogandlemon link shows the two recalls )

Re-call notices.

Has anyone had any re-call issues resolved here, in UK? It would appear my 2002 Bongo was/is subject to a gearbox re-call which wasn't addressed by previous owner in Japan. My first action has been to e-mail Mazda UK ( about 1 hour ago ) but to be honest I'm not expecting much, even though this is a...

Rattley auto box. 2002 v6

When first driving away I hear a rattley noise in 1st and as it changes to 2nd. Have checked the level when warm, in P, engine running. Topped it up a bit with D lll. Colour is pinky. Once warm the box is quiet. Always changes smoothly, possibly even better after the top up. No doubt a drain and re-...
