Re: Allan's Vehicle Services

Never been to Allan's Vehicle Services but his factsheets online have been enormously helpful to me, usually coming up whilst searching on google. Some of the information was elsewhere in the members area but still helpful getting a second opinion on it. Some of the factsheet links still exist on go...

Re: Solar Install Questions

So have you got your leisure battery in the back and ditched the SCR? No, the solar charger controller is connected to the leisure battery via a long wire down the inside of the van. Was tempted to put a secondary LB in the back as a dedicated inverter supply but think that would be more hassle tha...

Re: updating gross vehicle weight on v5

Thank you very much for youur reply Bob, that's really helpful letting me kno wwhat your V5 says.

I'll send a letter to the DVLA and try using the member's factsheet / allans document as evidence of the weights.

Re: Solar Install Questions

Sounds like a similar setup to our van. Our mppt controller is in the rear cupboard, dirctly below where the solar panel cable enters the van. Best thing about the solar panel is it keeps the Lesiure battery trickle charged to full which the alternator can't do. What wattage is your solar panel and ...

Re: 3M headlight restoration kit purchased

I did mine a few months ago with the 3M kit. I was struggling to do 50 on full beam before, but they light up the road wonderfully now! Really satisfying job to do you see the results straight away. It's worth keeping the sanding wheel moving at all times, if you hold it still in one place there's a...

Re: updating gross vehicle weight on v5

You're right g8dhe, there's virtually none left ( that they're admitting to anyway. Always feel there's a few tucked away on motorways behind "police only" signs ). Asking from a mix of over cautiousness and not wanting the insurance company to have a get out clause. Hi, this is not legal...

updating gross vehicle weight on v5

My v5 certifcate lists the gross weight as 1770kg. I don't have any plates or stickers in the van stating an unladen and gross weight following conversion. Has anyone had success updating the v5 with the dvla. Would a copy of the members factsheets on weight suffice as evidence along with a weighbri...

Re: paint code 12D

ford freda plate.jpg
Hi Geoff

Thanks for checking, definitly says 12D on the plate - does the G3J mean anything else? There's also a barcode sticker next to the plate with various other info on that might help perhaps?
Will try to get a good picture of the actual van paint later today.

paint code 12D

Hi all First time post here despite using the forums plenty a time so far.. I'm struggling to find paint for my ford freda 1995, the paint code is 12D which doesn't match up to anything on the factsheet. The van is a dark blue or purple colour with a silver bottom. Any ideas where I can go. I've tri...
