Re: Radiator fans running, after 25mile commute
Thanks , for both your posts , I’m pretty sure I don’t have any leaks , I’ve replaced pipes previously, it’s reassuring what you say about the temperature sensor and I suspect/hope that this is the cause , I will replace with genuine, I know what you mean about it being scary to get the fans to come...

Re: Radiator fans running, after 25mile commute
Hi Geoff , apologies, it’s a diesel, it’s definitely the radiator fans and not the scavenger fan , the fans do turn off with the ignition, however they come straight back on if I put the ignition back on and don’t start the engine. I’m probably being paranoid , but after my last Bongo had head gaske...

Re: Radiator fans running, after 25mile commute

Radiator fans running, after 25mile commute
Hi guys , my radiator fan is running after a shortish commute , temperature gauge is normal, though I know this is not a great indicator, the bottom hose is cool to touch even though the fans are running, leaving it to idle before I switch the ignition off doesn’t seem to allow them To stop , I chan...

Re: Cooling Fans and scavenger Fan
Thanks Geoff
That makes sense , what about my radiator fans , should they work together, currently only one works

Re: Leak from Transfer box !
Just an update for people who might have same problem, I removed the prop shaft and the offending seal , and I realised it was actually leaking from the seal between its mounting rather than the prop shaft part of the seal , I cleaned up the seal and put it back in with Wynns gasket seal , and it’s ...

Cooling Fans and scavenger Fan
Hi all , I’ve never heard my scavenger fan come on even after a run in the hot weather we had recently, so I thought I would test it with a 12v supply direct to , the fan worked , is the scavenger fan meant to come on with the radiator fan ? Also when the radiator fan comes only one works , should t...

Still trying to find why power loss on hills Vacuum solenoids
Hi All , I’m still trying to find why I have power loss on hills , I have been looking at the vacuum valves under the drivers seat , 1996 2,5 diesel , specifically the two together that are connected to the fuel pump , I’ve tested both solenoids and one works and one doesn’t when 12v are supplied , ...

Leak from Transfer box !
Hi I have got a leak from the Transfer box (1995 2.5 Diesel 4x4) it is leaking from where the front prop goes in , where can I get replacement seal , and is it something that I can replace with the transfer box in situ , I’m hoping that I just need to remove the front prop . It leaks when cold and i...
