Re: Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
I have disconnected both negative terminals on the SB and LB, held the brake for 10+ seconds, reconnected, started and idled for a couple of minutes. The errors are still showing on the led and hold light on the dash. Do you need to have the jumper and led wires disconnected to do the error reset?

Re: Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
No nothing specific to do with the battery. I've had solar for a couple of years and both batteries have been pretty much 100% all along. I recently put in a new style low coolant alarm and that would have involved some soldering. The fuse would have been out but I don't recall disconnecting the bat...

Re: Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
I went for a drive today and the hold light miraculously started flashing codes at me! I had left the jumper cables and led connected from my last attempts at fault code reading. Anyway, the code I have is: Long x 1, Short x 1 Long x 1, Short x 6 Long x 1 Long x 1, Short x 1 Repeat Is this code 1601...

Re: Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
Yes, it's an auto.
I thought the TEN and FEN were for engine codes and TAT and FAT were for auto box codes?
Anyway, no lights with either configuration.

Re: Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
Both batteries are topped up with a solar controller. The controller and the PMS3 are showing full batteries. I've had no other signs of battery issues. I've tried all sorts of combinations of wires and tiny filament bulbs and leds. I just don't think there's a signal coming into the diagnostic port...

Re: Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
I have tried a combination of wires; an led with a resistor and without, a paperclip jumper and an electronics kit jumper wire. I am not getting any flash, with or without ignition. The hold light on the dash still flashes on and off in ignition position, but not while engine running. I wonder if th...

Re: Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
Any ideas where I should start with this investigation? Firstly, I'd like to confirm the diagnostic port is receiving power.
Thanks
Thanks

Hold flashing and error with diagnostic port
V6 auto 2001 I have a flashing hold light when turning the ignition on but not while driving. It's a simple one flash on and off repeating. It seems I do not have a live feed to the diagnostic box. I have no voltage when connecting the D (positive) and E (ground) terminals. Should that read 12v with...

Thank you for the instructions. The error codes have cleared so I will see how things go from now.

Instrument cluster
I am looking for an instrument cluster. It does not have to be working as I am only after the clear plastic light 'deflectors' for a project.

Re: Error codes V6 2001
As a four digit code it seems to be coming out as 1601. A web search leads me to this description:
P1601 Powertrain Control Module Communication Line To TCM Error
How on earth do I check this? It could possibly be a loose connection or something?

Error codes V6 2001
After doing some work on resoldering some old connections, tidying various cables and switches, and replacing some dash bulbs. I now have a hold light flashing. I wired up an led and went through the Engine, ATX and ABS codes on the data port and only have errors on the ATX, which mirrors on the das...

I have changed the bulbs in the warning lights back to regular ones. Thank you for the replies!

Re: Glowing T5 led bulbs
Thank you for your reply. Is the system only self testing the warning lights on the left side of the instrument cluster? Also the bulbs you link are different to the 286 T5 type that I removed. Is that for a specific reason?
