Re: Finding oil leak before undersealing help please
Thank you so much for the comprehensive answers. I'll have a look for a local Bongo friendly garage for the MOT and see what I can do myself. I'll definitely research getting the gear selector knob off before attempting it. The van has a few bits that need sorting out but I'd rather make sure it'll ...

Re: Finding oil leak before undersealing help please
Thanks mike. I really didn't want someone spraying steam around under there and making anything worse. I've seen gaskets online for around £15, I have someone who may be able to do this depending on ease of fitting, unless you think it would be impossible to do or preferable to get it done in a gara...

Finding oil leak before undersealing help please
Hi all. My beloved Bongo is currently off the road until after Christmas. And I've been thinking about all the little jobs that need doing. There's been an oil leak noted on the past 2 MOT's, the oil level hasn't dropped noticeably in the 7 months I have owned the vehicle. I'd like to get the van un...

Re: Revs increasing when idling - might be normal??
Thanks for those replies. It's a 95 diesel. The bongo starts running at 900 revs, then immediately starts to creep up. If I just leave it to carry on it will eventually go back down to 900-1000 revs, just before it hits 2300 usually. I shall check the solenoids as suggested, thanks so much for the e...

Revs increasing when idling - might be normal??
Hi all. When I start my Bongo and am idling in Park, waiting for kids to sort belts out or whatever, the revs creep up from just under 1000rpm to 2500rpm I'm not sure exactly how high they'd go if I let it continue. If I change gear they drop back down, but if I go back into park without moving off ...

Re: Another newbie..
I've used mine daily since buying it about a month ago and love it. I'm sure it costs me a bit more than our old car did but I try not to think about it as it's so much fun to drive. And I don't think it's significantly more or I wouldn't afford it. Can't wait to go camping without having to pitch 3...

Wicksteed Park Kettering
We haven't been camping in our Bongo yet but we went tent camping at Wicksteed Park the past two years. The site is all non-electric and grass. There's a shower and toilet block which we found to be clean with ample hot water. Some of it is on a hill but there are flat areas. There's a small theme p...

Re: AFT roof question
Lovely thanks Gasy I'll see what I can do with them, pretty sure I can manage some glue based diy. Anything above glue or tape is maybe pushing it but I'm determined to do as much as I can myself.

Re: AFT roof question
Thanks for the helpful reply g8dhe. I have found the button and will have a fiddle about tomorrow after I go and borrow a stepladder as I'm a bit short to reach properly. I went up in the AFT properly today and had a good look round. I have to give it a good clean tomorrow as it's a bit mouldy. But ...

AFT roof question
Hi. Sorry if these have been asked before. And please excuse the technical terminology I may use. My AFT roof just closes, all the way without stopping in the middle. Pretty sure this isn't normal. Any ideas what it could be please? It's also pretty creaky going up and down, I know I need to clean t...

Re: Electric blind switch issue
Thanks for the advice. I cleaned all three switches today and they work perfectly. It took about 20 minutes, 10 of which was trying to get the aft switch out.

Re: Electric blind switch issue
Thanks. I just bought some contact cleaner so I'll have a go this weekend. My aft switch works to open the roof but won't close it unless you press it a lot so I'll clean all three.

Electric blind switch issue
Hi. My electric blinds all work from their individual switches but not from the switches on the dashboard. Is this likely to be a fuse issue or a problem with the switches themselves? I've had a look at the fusebox guide and am assuming (maybe wrongly) that if it was the fuses then the blinds wouldn...
