Re: E10 Fuel

Another reason to convert to LPG if it's available in your area and you've not yet done so. Only a small amount of petrol is used when the engine is cold, so any extra expense of super unleaded will be small. I feel the E10 thing is being overstated, we've been on E5 for how long? and I don't recall...

Re: Flashing charge light

Might it be worth disconnecting the LB system and returning it to 'normal' setup, so it can be eliminated from the equation, or confirmed as a factor?
Our scr from Karl failed after about 3 years, but didn't have the symptoms you are describing - just a flat LB

Re: Engine Rebuild - recommended engineers?

Being a Guildford bongo owner, If an engine shaped hole appears in ours one night, I'll have a good idea where it might have gone....... I will have to wrack my memory, but I think I saw an engine rebuilder near Farnham, maybe Wood Street - on the Hogs Back off the a31 anyway, is there a reason - ex...

Re: Any recent Single vehicle quotes ?

Finally settled via Mustard to stay with Adrian Flux. Fully comp, 6k miles, £0 voluntary excess 150 compulsory, declared value £12500, sole vehicle with a named driver, in the Guildford area for £172. Rather pleased with that as VED bill has just arrived demanding £280.

Re: Any recent Single vehicle quotes ?

That seems very odd. Mustard.co.uk have been v good for cars and motorbikes. I'll be trying them shortly for our 'van. Got one from Adrian Flux this morning for 4k miles but it wasn't the most competitive. It's lifesure at the moment. Update. Tried Mustard. First with 4k and got quotes, then at 6k a...

2021 Insurance tips.......

For as long as I remember, if you add a Voluntary Excess to a Policy quote, the Premium has gone down. I have been researching for my CAR insurance renewal, and instead of my usual £250 voluntary excess, got quotes reducing it to £0, and my quote remained the unchanged. Should I now need to claim, I...

Code: Select all

I"ve even bought a sticker for the back of the van saying ‘If you think this is slow, wait until I go uphill’ like some sort of jokey apology to the people behind!
Have done the same. That's Bongo's it seems.

Re: Overheating??

What engine do you have? Maybe it runs at different temp to our lpg fitted v6 but our experience is that these alarms can drive paranoia to new heights...... if you've had the van for a while and it's been ok, it probably still is - a number is just a number. What's more important is a variation to ...

Re: £1000 oil leak repair worth it on old V6 Bongo?

Depending where in London you are, it might make sense to get it to a Bongo experienced garage for repairs. At least you won't be paying for the mechanics' time whilst he learns how bongos work. There's one in Croydon. DRAServices.co.uk, if you are that side of town it might be worth calling them fo...

Re: £1000 oil leak repair worth it on old V6 Bongo?

The other question is whether £800, parts only, is reasonable. The mechanical guru's on the forum may be able to guide you if you can describe where the leak is or what the mechanic reports has failed.

Re: Bongo V6 LPG - NO FLASHLUBE?

When I was researching prior to having an lpg conversion installed I decided there was no real consensus on the benefit of having flashlube and the installer was also a little ambivalent too. I decided that for relatively little it seemed sensible to err on the side of caution. If your potential van...

Foam supplier -

In case anyone wants to renew any the foam padding in their van's upholstery, or at home, I've just received some from Ace Foam in Telford (https://www.acefoam.co.uk/). The price seemed competitive and it was delivered quickly and cut to the right pattern. The hardest part was deciding which of the ...

I don't know if they have a connection with Dormans garage or not, my impression was not, as they are (were 12 months ago) in a workshop in Hobbs Industrial estate just south of Newchapel..
