Re: Bikes on bike rack - how will it affect mpg?

Thanks for the responses. The journey is a round trip of over 1000 miles so if it reduces the mpg by 5 miles per gallon then we are looking at an additional £40 in petrol. The place we are staying hires bikes but my brother has hired from them in the past and says they are a bit crap. Has anyone eve...

Bikes on bike rack - how will it affect mpg?

We have a 2L petrol 2001 Bongo with a Fiamma bike rack fitted on the back. We are going from Norfolk to Scotland for a week next month and wondering whether to take our bikes or hire some when we get there. Does anyone know roughly what effect having two bikes on the bike rack will have on the mpg? ...

Rather of the school of buy it right buy it once went for a Fiamma F45s 2.6m in black @ £433 , tie down kit @ £16 and the AVA brackets @ £100 ( chose these as I felt t...

Re: Fiamma F45S Awning

We always found having the feet was handy if you wanted to come back to the same place as you can remove the supports without removing the whole plate http://www.fiammastore.com/Fiamma-Accessories-for-Caravanstore-and-F35/Fiamma-Kit-Awning-Pegs Thanks for that. Would I need to peg down the feet if ...

Fiamma F45S Awning

We are thinking of buying a wind out awning for our Bongo. I have found this site and the prices seem competitive: http://www.fiammastore.com/Motorhome-Awnings-by-Fiamma/Fiamma-F45S-Motorhome-Awning 230mm - £388 Brackets: http://www.fiammastore.com/Fiamma-F45s-Ti--and-Zip-Awning-Adapter-Brackets/Fia...

Re: Bongo conversion - interior bed size

We bought ours with a side conversion already done. The bed is the type that has a space at the end, which is what I wanted, but as my husband is over 6ft tall we needed some sort of solution for him to rest his feet on as the bed is only around 5ft or so long. After a bit of thought I came up with ...

Re: Anyone fitted a Motorcycle rack?

I've seen an FS1E on the back of one of those racks on a van but obviously wouldn't be much good for 2-up. If you want to take the bike as well as the Bongo how about one person rides the bike and one person drives the Bongo? That's what my husband and I did when we went to the aircooled RD rally ea...

AFT / rising roofs

Apologies if this subject has already been covered but I have searched the forum and can't find anything like this. We bought a Bongo in July and it has the original roof. We are considering getting it converted to an AFT roof but I would like to know the options and the pros and cons. I understand ...

I forgot to add that I want to call it Pongo the Um-Bongo (no it doesn't smell!) but he isn't that keen, he wants a "happier" name!

Hello all. My husband and I have just purchased our first Bongo. We purchased it from a lovely couple just over the border in Suffolk and we collected it 24 hours ago. The van is a 51 plate with side conversion and appears to have been really well cared for. We had a friend who knows his stuff check...
