Re: Smev Space
Thanks Doone. I finally managed to find a manual on the Dometic site that said you need 30mm below the burners and you should stick heat insulation down if you plan to have anything in a drawer immediately below that.

Smev Space
Hi All I'm wondering if anyone knows how much space cupboard you need around a 2 burner Smev/Dometic hob? I'm considering building a removable "box" to hold a cooktop with additional room to store plates and cutlery. This probably wouldn't be used in the Bongo, just lifted out and used as ...

Re: Fridge Electrics
Thanks Geoff. I'll have a think about how to plumb in a positive and negative run back to the battery.

Re: Fridge Electrics
Brilliant, thanks Geoff. Unfortunately after having a look the current wires only seem to be 4mm2 so I'm going to have to run new cables anyway. 10mm2 seems huge for a supposedly low amp fridge but I guess it is what it is :s

Re: Securing rear cupboards
Having removed the rear seat today I've come up with another plan which is to leave the sliding brackets in place that the seat normally attaches to and to bolt the cupboard to these. I will make the sides out of 18mm ply so there will be a lot of wood holding it in place. Still trying to decide whe...

Fridge Electrics
Hi all, I'm thinking of getting one of these for the bongo https://www.dometic.com/en-gb/uk/products/food-and-beverage/refrigeration/refrigerators/dometic-coolmatic-cd-20-_-64133. Looking at the manual it says that I need 10mm wiring for a 6m 12v run. The spot where I want to put it already has 2 x ...

Re: Securing rear cupboards
Thanks Mark. I guess I was assuming that a full cupboard would weigh a lot less than a seat with a couple of adults on it so the railing would cope. Maybe time to reconsider...

Securing rear cupboards
Hi All I'm thinking of removing the rear seat from our Bongo and building some cupboards to go in its place. The cupboards would extend across the full width of the Bongo and be about 50cm deep and 70cm high. I'm wondering about the best option for securing them in place? I was toying with the idea ...

Re: Limp Mode
Thanks for the instructions! The fluid level seems to be ok. Took it for a spin yesterday; 50k out with a stop for a couple of hours then 50k back. No warning light or limp mode. Might risk a longer drive today and see how it goes. We were down to 1/4 tank of diesel when limp mode kicked in on some ...

Re: Limp Mode
Thanks for the tips all. It is the glow plug coil light that is flashing. This is the first long drive since we had a service done a few weeks ago. We made about 300 km before the issue kicked in. I'll see if i can dig out the handbook and work out how to check the AFT level. Not sure I'm game to tr...

Limp Mode
Hi We were on day 1 of a 3 week European road trip yesterday when after about 3 hours driving the warning light on the dash came on and the Bongo entered limp mode. We managed to make it the final 30 miles to our campground but now have to decide what to do next. I'm no mechanic but we do have Europ...

Re: Air Lift Installation
Thanks again Geoff.
Bob I've just had a trawl through the fact sheets and there is one called Spring Assisters which might be the one you were thinking of but the link isn't working. There is also a bit of info in previous forum posts.

Re: Air Lift Installation
Thanks Geoff. That shows the valve to the bottom so Bob are you saying to flip that for a Bongo and have it at the top?

Air Lift Installation
Just bought a set of these http://air-lift.co.uk/air-helper-spring-kits/14345-mazda-bongo-rear-air-lift-1000-kit.html to help with a bit of bottoming out over bumps when fully loaded. Unfortunately they came without instructions. Looks reasonable straight forward, with a bladder for each side and a ...

Thanks for the suggestions all. Yes we do have an AFT but it all seems to be working OK. Not sure how to decode the lush site
