I've just had a problem with my Diesel Bongo cutting out shortly after starting. I'm suspecting air getting into in the fuel line - possibly in the fuel filter assembly.

maybe worth dropping the tank, sort it once and for all, change the short rubber pipes on the top of the tank while your there, 20 years old rubber and all that. if you take out the tank you could even do the filter on the end of the pickup pipe if you go in through the gauge opening. Diesel in damp conditions can develop a diesel fungus. A problem in boats when unused over winter. It causes filters to block up more rapidly. Loads of advice through Google. yes anything like that should be fine, please be aware that most of these are flammable though, inside will be ok, once it starts to move just keep re applying until your happy its free. have you tested the actuator. Tightened up the fuel cap and west for another test drive tonight. Everything seemed fine so I'm guessing that the problem was the dirt in the filter under the banjo bolt.

By 'take off the top' do you mean the top of the fuel pump?

I was poking round the engine tonight and noticed that the wastegate actuator rod would not move by hand. Is that normal? The engine was cold.
