Re: What double din with god will fit a Mazda Bongo 1998

Just be aware that although the do it all chinese cheapies are very good...mine had video, reversing camera sockets, DAB radio etc for around £50....It did drain my starter battery over a week-end. They are permanently live unless you put an inline switch-off somewhere to isolate it. Wiring was a lo...

Re: Electric pedal bikes

I got an Elife folding bike from Ideal world 3 months ago (£500). It has 3 levels of assist, 6 gears and is just right to fold and put in the back even with the rocker bed out. Great for those hilly bits. My mate paid over a grand, single assist level, bigger wheels, speedo etc. I beat him on the hi...

Re: DAB radio aerials

Yep, agree with scratch. No probs at all with the stick on aerial. The signal is good around the lakes and in wales. Bit of drop off now and again but not for long.

Same here, fitted to left of windscreen by the nice man at Halfords. Not lost a signal yet.

Re: Hardknott Pass

Great pics mate. Been up and down several times in various vehicles, but not in the Bongo yet. Seem to remember one year, a cracking rock night at the Old Dungeon Ghyll, north of the pass. , on a small wild campsite near the pub. We were surrounded by bikers and had one of the best nights ever.

Re: top tips needed... please.

As Alison says...battery or solar colour changing lights...brilliant for the kids (and adults). Also good for finding the van/tent at night. Years ago when kids were small we took a couple of cheapo walkie talkies to keep tabs on 'em.

Re: Aldi Adventuridge cool box

Yea, to be honest brian/mike I needed some extra 12v power take offs at the rear anyway. The surest way I knew that the wiring would take the load was to route straight from the LB and to not put to much pressure on the rear socket. Anyway, that was my way, and it gives me peace of mind. Has also be...

Re: Aldi Adventuridge cool box

yea no problem...An electrician mate gave me some black flexible tubing (dirt cheap off ebay). After connecting to aux. fuse-box all the wires were threaded down the tube using electricians pull-rods (cheap on ebay or at Aldi at the mo). At the bulkhead end I used cable-ties to secure that end. The ...

Re: Aldi Adventuridge cool box

Morning rich. I have a similar cool box, but after reading up I decided not to use the rear socket for the above reason. I fitted an auxiliary fuse box (fits neatly behind the glovebox) off the LB and plug everything into that using suitably rated wiring. My side conversion had a space on the tall r...

Holmfirth & Pontefract

Morning all. I helped daughter move to Ponty over last few weeks. We took a trip to Holmfirth last Sunday (last of the Summer Wine). I do not think I have found friendlier people, there or in Ponty. To anyone from that area, thank you for making my daughter so welcome. She also has an unusual pet......

Re: Solar panel

Hi Paul. Roger fitted a flexi panel to my mushroom roof. No problems at all regarding lifting the roof, it was heavy any way but the panel does not add much more weight. I would'nt have thought you would notice to be honest.

Re: JAL imports conversion

Morning scuffe. I found using cargo nets a boon.....A couple of big ones hold a lot of lightweight stuff on top of my kitchen units on the offside (sleeping bags, coats etc). Also got one for the tailgate area at the back of the rock n roll seat, this holds stuff in when lifting the tailgate (e.g. t...

Re: Leisure battery split charge/rewire fitting - West Sussex

I found Karl's (rooster) kit's on the bay. His stuff is first class and very well put together. Supplied with clear easy to follow instructions and easy to fit yourself. Just a bit of fiddling to get the wiring through some tight spaces but the results are worth the effort. It might be worth buying ...
