I'd hate to agree with anyone from Lanarkshire but the reason I know this is because the van I replaced the Bongo with, a Hiace, had an aftermarket glow-in-the-dark type with a turbo timer...................Lets hope M8ongo doesn't get too cold during his investigations

Sorry matey, 14-270 is the oil feed pipe and 14-290 is the oil drain pipes. The pipes I mentioned are COOLANT pipes. They help control the temperature of the turbo. To be honest, it's really only a problem with old non coolant cooled turbos - modern turbos, including the Bongo, are cooled so the shut down procedure isn't that important (except as mentioned before, foreign motorway exits with little slow down) I'd dissagree with that, the internals of a turbo a...

Does it happen when the turbo spins up - usually over 1800 rpm under load? Could be a turbo seal problem if it does.
