Re: internet on the go (again!)

In reality finding hotspots in a residential area using BT wifi is hit and miss, and you are lucky if you find a campsite where a local resident or business (or the campsite itself) has shared using this system. Having said that it is very useful in more and more areas of towns and cities to check e...

Re: Ignoring the wild camping aspect are campsites too expen

Its a sorry tale - I am slowly giving up on finding a campsite for less than £25 per night. Wild camping is OK if you are out in the wilds but living in London and taking the kids away for a quick overnighter rules out wild camping. We now tend to use the Bongo for day trips at the weekend - go earl...

it is one of the few occassions where it is OK to hit something hard with a hammer - relish the experience. :D

Re: Brighton Anyone?

I am busy most weekends at the moment - my original suggestion was 7th July - gives people a bit of 'planning time'.

Re: Brighton Anyone?

The Dyke pub looks good on Google Streetview - seems plenty of parking, nice pub and a view. Lets go for it.

Cooking set up - external / internal gas supply question

Hi all - I have a removable rear kitchen with hob but wouldn't want to cook inside all the time. I am planning to get a couple of these http://www.gasandhireltd.com/quick-release-coupling-in-brass-two-nozzles/prod_316.html and run a short hose from the cylinder / regulator inside the van and swap as...

Re: awning advice please

Hi - I have just ordered on from Amazon and will put it up this weekend. I am expecting the tunnel between the awning and the van to come with a bead in, and to slot directly into figure of 8 strips like these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Figure-of-8-Awning-channel-750mm-long-/160820515534?pt=UK_Campe...

Re: sun canopy

Hi - I use a standard tarp and attach it to the hooks which are under the AFT using these and guy it out with cheap poles

http://www.uktarps.com/hold-on-clips

These are brilliant - grip the tarp anywhere and have never come undone - the tighter you attach them the tighter they grip.

Gas cupboard and drop vents required?

Hi all - I have now acquired and installed a removable rear unit which sits on the nearside wheel arch and houses the gas bottle and tanks for the smev combi unit above, as well as space for a few bits and pieces. The unit isn't 'sealed' to the side panel and has a solid base which sits on the carpe...

Re: Replacing the "D" bulb / D Drive light on the Dashboard

Hi - I replaced my D bulb in the carpark! Took 10 mins while I was waiting. Its dead simple. The bulbs are readily available - I got mine from Eurocarparts. I did find the bulb holder for the D light was more brittle than the others as the light is on far longer so I swapped the holder with the S po...

Re: Rear axle - heavy 'thump'?

I had the same - it was the anti roll bar bracket.

Mine was easy to see as it had bent completely but if it has just gone it may be hard to spot.
